Abstract: Two new static indexes that use time series from power system dynamic simulations are presented on this paper. The proposed indexes are used to check whether the time series from dynamic simulations will converge to a safe and stable equilibrium point and to measure the quality of the stability. They can also be used to classify simulations according to the severity of the contingency applied. The Integral Square Generator Angle (ISGA) index is used as a dynamic index to assess the validity of the proposed indexes and their use for classification of timedomain simulations. An illustrative example using the Klein-Rogers-Kundur's two-area system is presented and then the static indexes are validated trough several nonlinear simulations using the KTH-Nordic32 system.
