Abstract: We examined the factors that seemed to determine the success of eight listed Swiss or Liechtenstein-based asset managers (incl. the two big banks) in their core business. We have tried to assess to what extent myths regarding private banking in Switzerland reflect reality. In the 2nd part of the report, we took an in-depth look at the eight different business cases. Our analysis suggested that myths and corporate visions should be regarded with some scepticism.
