Abstract:	International Standards on Auditing (ISA) werden vom privatrechtlich organisierten International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) erlassen, einem unabhängigen Komitee der International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). Weiterhin veröffentlicht der IAASB ergänzende Stellungnahmen (sog. International Audit Practice Statements (IAPS)) sowie Standards zu anderen Arten von Zusicherungsleistungen (sog. Assurance Services). IFAC und IAASB sowie das korrespondierende Standardsetting sind traditionell erheblich vom US-Berufsstand beeinflusst.
