Abstract: Introduction/Rationale: Recent global events such as wars, economic crises and the effects of climate change have increased the incidences of human displacement. The Occupational Therapy (OT) community has increasingly attempted to respond to this reality. Though emerging practices are more readily disseminated, there is a continued need for international knowledge sharing and for exploration of best practices to further develop the role of OT within this field. With this aim, the OT-Europe Interest Group on OT with Displaced Persons was formed. Objectives: This presentation aims to present the work and findings of the OT Europe Interest group over the last 4 years since the WFOT conference in 2018. Method/Approach: Multiple workshops, international surveys and student activities were conducted and collaborations were established with inter-disciplinary and international partners. This facilitated the gathering of information on work currently being conducted with displaced persons in OT practice, education and research, across Europe and beyond. Additionally, it facilitated the identification of needs moving forward. Results and or Practice Implications: Students, educators, practitioners, and researchers within occupational therapy continue to engage in activities with humans experiencing displacement. Simultaneously, education opportunities are needed in this area, both during OT education and in post-graduate formats. Networking opportunities are needed to support knowledge sharing and to reduce redundancy. Conclusions: The last four years have demonstrated a continued growth in interest in this practice area while also confirming the need to align our international lessons allowing occupational therapy to be responsive to the needs of humans experiencing displacement.
