dc.description.abstract | The interdisciplinary “Robotics and Autonomous Devices in Health Care” study shows the current status and future trends of robotics in healthcare. It assesses opportunities and risks in view of a technically feasible, economically achievable and ethically desirable use of robotics in healthcare. An analysis of opportunities and risks led to the conclusion that insufficient regulation, for instance in liability law, data protection and ethics, would lead to risks for people dealing with such devices in research, testing and practice. Evidently, a proactive and coordinated policy framework is required to minimize the risks of the use of robotics in the healthcare environment and to allow stakeholders to benefit fully from its opportunities and advantages. | de_CH |
