dc.description.abstract | The need to promote green values in our society has gained increasingly attention among researchers and public policy makers. To date, however, Western societies are still dominated by materialistic values. Values are relatively stable and are not easily changed. It is hence possible that those increasing attempts to transform materialistic consumers into green consumers have caused unintended negative side-effects. The aim of the present paper is to shed light on the existence of such a potential value conflict and to discuss consequences for consumer well-being. | de_CH |
