Abstract: The invention relates to a device (100) for evaluating the operation of a power plant (WPP), the device including an input unit (102) for receiving SCADA input values of explanatory variables relating to the operation of the power plant (WPP), said explanatory variables including at least one operation assessing variable suitable for assessing the operation of the power plant (WPP), an output unit (106) for outputting at least one response signal, and an evaluating unit (104). The evaluating unit (104) receives said SCADA input values from the input unit (102), calculates for the or each operation assessing variable a respective expected value on the basis of input values of explanatory variables different from said operation assessing variable(s), using at least one statistical and/or machine learning regression algorithm, determines said at least one response signal in dependence upon the respective actual input value the corresponding expected value, and transfers said at least one response signal to the output unit (106).
