This paper discusses the successful agile transformation of IdéeSport, a Swiss non-profit organization, which uses sport to prevent addiction and promote health and social integration among children and adolescents. The literature of “agilization” has predominantly been concerned with software development, where the concept originated. However, IdéeSport recognized the benefits of becoming an agile organization that focuses on its stakeholders and changing demands, reinforces a joined culture, and establishes new collaboration and leadership styles. Using a specific transformation architecture and best-practice frameworks, IdéeSport took the first step towards transforming into an agile organization. This paper relies on the case study which we analyzed in further detail. It documents a mixed-methods approach which includes observation of workshops and sprint sessions, interviews with project team members and experts, and a survey of IdéeSport staff. In particular, we wanted to identify the essential phases and action clusters relevant to the agile organizational transformation of IdéeSport. Based on our findings, we make several recommendations, clustered into practical guidelines, to help IdéeSport continue its agile transformation and support other non-profit organizations in becoming agile.de_CH
