dc.description.abstract | Financial decisions in the context of retirement are complex, highly consequential, and offer limited learning opportunities since one only retires once. The institutional environment and field data limitations make the identification of their determinants particularly challenging. We present a thematic survey of experimental studies tackling different features of financial retirement decisions to better understand why sub-optimal outcomes emerge. We also conduct partial replications of three experimental designs from earlier studies addressing different aspects of retirement decisions, which we modify and adapt to be able to deploy them with a larger sample of the broader population. We successfully replicate most of the main results and point out differences. Finally, we propose a future experimental research agenda on retirement decisions, contextualizing it with key lingering issues in the related field empirical literature. | de_CH |
