Abstract: Designing teaching and learning is both a planning-conceptual and an operative design process, and one that is very close to the concept of design as it is used in other disciplines. This paper discusses design principles for digital learning and describes how digital learning can be designed with the educational design tool myScripting5 based on the ADDIE process model. The tool suggests context-dependent activities, analyses the design continuously, and provides valuable indications for further development. Role-specific outputs and interfaces to learning management systems (LMS) facilitate the implementation of the scripts. In addition, the collaborative functions support teaching in teams as well as in-depth reflection on educational designs.
