In a changing translation profession, soft skills, such as self-motivation, the regulation of negative emotions, having a positive and clear self-concept, adaptability and change management occupy an increasingly central position in translators’ competence profiles. In addition, these skills are crucial for continuous motivation and job satisfaction at an individual level, as well as to pursue sustainable careers. This presentation discusses the relevance of soft skills for translators today and in the future and the role these skills play for facilitating performance and well-being.de_CH
