| Abstract: | Traditionally, literacy (reading and writing) empowers people to participate in society at large. Inclusion and diversity are both dependent on literacy. With the advent of the Web and the Internet, reading and writing moved into the digital space. Digital literacy can be understood both as ability and skill to read and write in today’s digital world to be able to participate in society, and as ability and skill to navigate the digital world including information literacy, data literacy, etc, what might be called general digital literacy. With the availability of Artificial Intelligence-based applications, a new literacy seems to emerge: AI literacy as another part of general digital literacy. In this presentation I will argue that the power of AI applications can be leveraged to support digital reading and writing: AI empowers digital literacy to help people to participate in an inclusive and diverse society. |
