| Abstract: | AI offers estimations based on generalisations and imperfect data whereas safety and dependability expects close-to certainties, the two are not yet compatible in practice. Industry has a strong interest in integrating AI systems into safe and dependable applications – automated driving is one obvious application domain. In this presentation we state the requirements around safe and dependable AI systems, discuss the current state of the art in industry and standardisation committees and present some promising new research initiatives. Our main focus is in the edgeAI domain discussing both embedded HW and SW solution strategies. |
