Abstract: Introduction: Infants at risk of neurodevelopmental disorders require early intervention. We know that interventions that address the entire family and that meet the individual needs of families may positively impact family well-being and infant development. But what do we actually know about the needs of parents of infants with or at risk of neurodevelopmental receiving early intervention? How do parents experience such interventions? Do the needs and experiences of parents vary between countries and cultures? The aim of this project was to explore the needs and experiences of parents of infants receiving early intervention in five countries: Germany, Lithuania, Spain, Switzerland, and Turkey. Participants: Parents of infants at risk of or with neurodevelopmental disorders from five countries who received family-centred early intervention through COPCA® 2023 course participants. The parents were asked about their needs regarding early intervention and experiences with COPCA® by means of a questionnaire and/ or through a semi-structured interview. Data collection is completed in January 2024. Results: At the meeting results are available. Preliminary data suggest that across countries families receiving early intervention not only have similar but also culturally specific needs. In addition, the data highlight how parents of different cultures experience COPCA®. Conclusion: The data of the study will facilitate adjustment of family centered early intervention to the needs of families of different cultures. Culturally adapted and needs-based intervention increases the likelihood that early intervention positively influences the well-being of the whole family in this vulnerable phase of life and infant development.
